(1) Excursion Península

We leave from Madryn Port at 7.30 A.M.
and after entering Valdes Peninsula we cross the Isthmus
Carlos Ameghino, a narrow earth strip in whose narrower
part is the center of interpretation, where we can
obtain all type of information of the flora, fauna
and history of the region. From a balcony installed
there we can observe the San Jose Gulf, the New Gulf
and the Island of the Birds. After crossing 25 km
we arrived at Pyramids Port, the only tourist village
in the peninsula, from where you have the opportunity
(optional) to embark and see whales, dolphins, wolves
( from June to December and wolves and dolphins from
December to March ). Then we have lunch in a typical
restaurant of the zone (fish, seafood, patagonico
Lamb, etc). After the lunch we leave Port Pyramid
with destination to the End of the World Lighthouse
that dates from year 1905, being able to observe in
the way the Small and Grate Salt Mines, as well as
variety of fauna like guanacos, ñandues, maras
or Patagonia's hares among others species. From
the lighthouse we will descend to the beach to observe
marine elephants in its period of reproduction, being
able to appreciate behaviors of fight, copula, childbirths,
or to simply see them in rest state. Then we go to
Valdes Creek, where we will observe marine elephants
and we will walk by the Lolita footpath enjoying an
unforgettable landscape. There you will have the option
to have lunch or to take a snack in the Elvira Inn
restaurant. Then we will observe a small colony of
Magellanic Penguins (between September and March).
From December to April depending on the road condition
and the migration of the fauna, we visit "Punta
Norte" instead of "Faro Punta Delgada".
There we find a breeding station of marines wolves,
we will be able then, to observe childbirths, copulas,
breasts-feeding and all type of behaviors related
to their reproduction. Occasionally we will be able
to see killer whales from the coast. Then we will
undertake the return arriving at Madryn Port approximately
at 6.30 P.M.
